STRAW COLOUR & APPEARANCE
Because timber straws are crafted from the natural contours of wood, their colour & grain appearance will not be identical.
Timber straws will change colour with washing, especially in a dishwasher. The hot, cold & drying cycles act like extreme weather to 'season' the wood & fade the paint.
Timber straws are painted with non-toxic, natural paint. Straws will not always be smooth & small clumps will decorate the straw to give it a realistic appearance. The non-toxic paint ingredients used are earth pigments, mineral filling material, non-toxic preservatives, titanium dioxide (white pigment) & vinegar ester.
STRAW CARE & CLEANING
Like other utensils, wash timber straws after every use.
Use a straw or bottle cleaning brush to remove stubborn leftovers.
Make sure you have the right diameter brush (snug fit) & the right length.
Timber straws should be placed in the dishwasher cutlery basket or hand washed in hot soapy water, rinsed clean & dried upright.
For extra glow, rub fractionated coconut oil on timber straws.
Do not use regular coconut oil because it has fatty acid which may go rancid on the timber straw.
WARNING
If cracks or splits appear in your timber straw, dispose of it immediately.
People with mobility or learning challenges should take care with sharp tipped timber straws.
Like other utensils, children should be under adult supervision when using timber straws.
