The main practical difference is natural bamboo straws have irregular hole diameters along the length of the straws and wooden straws have a consistent drilled hole diameter over the length of the straw.

Australian regulation, requires domestic processors of raw logs and importers of regulated timber products, to have a complying due diligence system in place to minimise the risk of importing or processing illegally logged timber.
