Bamboo straw & Timber straw cleaning

WASH STRAWS AFTER EVERY USE
Like other utensils, wash reusable straws after every use.

CLEANING BRUSH

Use a straw or bottle cleaning brush to remove stubborn leftovers.
Make sure you have the right diameter brush (snug fit) & the right length.

DISHWASHER & HANDWASH
Straws should be placed in the dishwasher cutlery basket or hand washed in hot soapy water, rinsed clean & dried upright.
BAMBOO STRAW CLEANING, TIMBER STRAW CLEANING

COLOUR CHANGE
Straws will change colour with washing, especially in a dishwasher. The hot, cold & drying cycles act like extreme weather & 'season' the bamboo & wood.

COCONUT OIL
For extra glow, rub fractionated coconut oil on the straws.
Do not use regular coconut oil because it has fatty acid which may go rancid on the straw.
BAMBOO STRAW STOREAGE

BAMBOO STRAWS
Store in a well ventilated place, not in a sealed container.

If mold appears, add 1 teaspoon of white vinegar to water & boil bamboo straws for a few minutes then rinse clean. Mold can appear if bamboo straws are not completely dried after washing.

ECO TIMBER STRAWS

COLOURED TIMBER STRAWS
The natural enamel paint on coloured timber straws will fade with washing, especially in a dishwasher. The hot, cold & drying cycles act like extreme weather & fade the paint.
